Hi Ha! What do you do at Medmont?

I’m a Senior Software Engineer. My current focus is researching and developing software systems for Medmont’s instruments.

What made you pursue a career in science and technology?

Since I was a child, I’ve always been into nature, science, maths, physics and chemistry. Simply, I just like it!

What are the biggest challenges of a job in science (STEM)?

You need to continuously stay up to date on new knowledge and technology. That’s also the reward in this career.

What does our purpose statement ‘empowering healthy sight’ mean to you?

To me, what we do at Medmont is about helping people who are in need.

What’s your proudest career achievement so far?

This would be a combination of my academic and industry experiences. I have published a few papers in top-tier journals and premium conferences, I’m the leading author of two best paper awards, and I’m proud to have gained extensive experience as a researcher and as a software engineer in different sectors, including Information Communications Technology (ICT), construction, digital physical asset management. And now, in healthcare!

What do you like about working at Medmont?

Medical device technology is one my favourite areas. Working in this area gives me an opportunity to touch the lives of people who need it most. Medmont is an active, flexible and very supportive environment for me to do that in.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?

I enjoy nature. I am usually up for a long walk, spending time with family and friends— and I do some volunteering on the weekend.

It’s clear that Ha has a bright future ahead of her and will be an excellent addition to Medmont for years to come.
