Our Shipping Coordinator Ellen is responsible for organising the world-wide shipping of Medmont instruments—to distributors in Europe, Asia and America and to end users (practice owners and eye care professionals) in Australia. Read below to get to know Ellen and what she enjoys most about working at Medmont.
Hi Ellen! What does your role involve?
I liaise with our customers and distributors. I ship samples and repairs. I work closely with our Production Team to know when orders will be ready for shipping, and I communicate this to the Sales Team to keep everyone up to date.
What’s your proudest Medmont career achievement so far?
I’ve streamlined my role, made positive changes in providing visibility to all team members concerning order status and shipping. I’ve also implemented new repair processes and procedures.
What does ‘empowering healthy sight’ (our purpose statement) mean to you?
It’s a strong statement as so many suffer with eyesight issues, and Medmont instruments provide such detailed analysis regarding the health of the eye and can help practitioners predict issues that are likely to occur. This is a huge accomplishment, helping people and the health of their eyes daily.
What do you like most about working at Medmont?
I enjoy working and liaising with our international customers and distributors, developing friendships along the way. It’s rewarding knowing they purchase instruments from us to make a difference to the health of people’s eyes worldwide. I also enjoy the people I work with in the office, as we all have developed friendships that make working here enjoyable.
What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working?
I’m a mum of 3 children so I’m always busy spending time with them. I also enjoy running—I live across from a lake which I run around almost every night. Catching up with friends over dinner is another favourite.
What are you watching/reading/listening to now?
I’m not watching anything now as I don’t really get time. I do love listening to music. I always have my playlist on either at home while cooking or on my air pods at work.
